Here's a CNN article on the recent Cholera outbreak in Haiti - remember, cholera is a stage two epidemic, so this probably shows Haiti's backwards shift after the earthquake. Or, does it represent a stage five epidemic, showing the results of poverty?

Standard: learned about ways humans affect our environment negatively (deforestation, pollution, smog, acid rain, etc). HW = to make a poster advocating one of the environmental issues
AP: discussed basics of migration (emigration, immigration, net migration, internal vs international, etc), watched a PBS Frontline documentary on border migration in Mexico and the corruption there.
